NEVERCV TRUST METHOD · VERSION 1.0

Verify the claim. Not the person.

Career claim verification is a claim-level process. It shows what supports one statement, who supplied or confirmed it, when that happened, and what remains unknown.

Updated 2026-08-06. Public methodology does not mean every state is available for every claim in the live product.

THE CORE RULE

Never call an entire candidate “verified” when only particular claims have particular evidence states.
Read the states

THE CLAIM STATES

A source name, an uploaded document, and issuer verification are different signals. Their labels must not be interchangeable.

Self-declared

The person supplied the claim. No supporting evidence or external confirmation is implied.

Evidence-backed

Supporting material is linked to the claim, with provenance and access scope shown.

Source-confirmed

An identified authoritative source has confirmed the specific claim.

Issuer-verified

The organization or issuer responsible for the record completed a defined verification process.

Disputed

A material challenge to the claim is recorded and remains unresolved.

Expired

The evidence or verification is no longer current under its stated validity period.

MINIMUM CONTEXT

A label alone is not enough.

  1. 01

    Identify the exact claim

Verification should attach to a specific role, credential, project, date, outcome, or skill statement—not a whole profile.

  2. 02

    Show provenance and access scope

Record who supplied the evidence, what it is, who can inspect it, and whether it is primary or derived material.

  3. 03

    Record actor, method, and timestamp

A confirmation should name the responsible source or issuer, the process used, and when the process completed.

  4. 04

    Keep correction and expiry visible

Claims can be disputed, corrected, revoked, or become stale. The interface should preserve that history and current state.

LIVE-PRODUCT LIMITS

This method is not a universal certification service.

A person can add a source note without creating external confirmation. Uploaded evidence can be incomplete or inaccessible. Issuer verification requires an appropriate issuer and a defined process; it must never be inferred from AI analysis alone.

QUESTIONS

Use the label precisely.

Does evidence-backed mean the claim is true?

Not automatically. It means supporting material is linked and its provenance and access scope are shown. The material may still be incomplete, disputed, or insufficient.

Can AI verify a career claim?

AI can help organize material and identify inconsistencies. It cannot become the employer, school, credential issuer, or other authoritative source responsible for a confirmation.

Why not call a candidate verified?

A profile contains many claims with different sources, dates, and confidence. A person-level label hides those differences and can imply more certainty than the evidence supports.

TRUST SHOULD TRAVEL WITH THE CLAIM

Keep the evidence boundary visible.
